Can objects be different and be the same? Can a design be continually tweaked by the designer or changed by a buyer and not change production? For 5 days in May we tried it out at the Future Perfect in New York. We didn’t make it to 40 but we designed and made 22 lamps built on an adjustable aluminum armature with dozens of different cord materials. Here are some images of our portable studio and finished prototypes.
In the coming months, after a little more refinement, we plan to put a few of the designs into production. But there will always be the opportunity to customize a lamp in size, shape, material or color for specific projects.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by and chatted with us while we worked.
Here are a few of the blogs that commented on the project.
